Livigno is a Lively, friendly, quite smart village with a good Alpine atmosphere, is a town  in the region of Lombardy, in  the province of Sondrio.


Livigno is set in a wide valley near the Swiss border in the Italian  Alps,is 1,816 metres (5,958 ft) above sea level,originally a small alpine farming village. It has continued to develop into a modern alpine resort whilst maintain its village feel and sense of tradition

The centre and old town consists of stone and wooden clad chalets which adds to the cosy feel of the resort.

Livigno’s recipe of a fair-sized mountain, high altitude and fairly low prices is uncommon, and obviously attractive, and may be enough to get it on to your shortlist, especially if you are a beginner or unadventurous intermediate. But don’t overlook the non-trivial drawbacks we list above.

It has to be said, Livigno is a top destination with a vibrant and lively atmosphere  centred on the wide main street that runs the length of the town. Fashion shops, restaurants and cafés, a cinema, and bars all line the busy high street giving plenty of choice and variety. More recently, there’s a increasing emphasis being placed the look and feel of Livigno.

Italians welcome families with open arms and Livigno lives up to this reputation. It’s a fantastic resort for families with its great choice of facilities and services, all at great value for money.

The resort  is flat and easy to get around with buggies and small children. The free ski bus service runs from 8am until 8pm and accommodates buggies.

You’ll also find a good choice of child-friendly activities in Livigno including toboganning, husky dog rides, horse riding, snowmobiling (accompanied by a parent), ice skating, bowling,  and climbing wall.
